Happy Father's Day!

I just wanted to wish all the daddy's out there a very special Father's Day! To my dad, I wish I could be there to celebrate with you---I appreciate all your good intentions and love you very much :)

I think Tyler had a master plan to make his grand debut a bit early....Most friends know that I'm not a baker, but I attempted to bake a cake anyway because I wanted Randy to feel special since it will be his first father's day!

Don't judge the icing skills, it's the thought that counts!! lol

Ty's First Photoshoot

Wow, tomorrow Tyler will already be 1 week young and he's already had his first professional photo shoot! Ty is such a little cutie patootie and he worked it for my camera! Actually, what I mean to say is that he slept really well throughout the session :) Before I post a few of his photos, I wanted to share a poo story that happened early this morning......It is all too common when baby boys have a fountain of pee when changing their diapers, but midway during Tyler's diaper change he gave us our first experience with projectile poo!! Not only did he splatter the carpet with his mustard seedy looking poo, he managed to aim at my shirt, Randy's shorts, and the end of our bed sheets from his crib!

Baby Tyler's Big Birthday!

Happy Birthday to my new little man Tyler!

The same day I updated my last post was when I went into labor! Not only did I have an easy pregnancy, but I also had a quick and fast delivery (2.5 hour labor) with one of my best friends as my nurse and my awesome OB doctor came to deliver me! To top things off, everything happened on night shift with my favorite crew :) Tyler was born on June 12 at 5:34 am, with just half an hour of pushing!

Yesterday was our first day home from the hospital. As we had prepared, it was a difficult night to get much sleep! Welcome to parenthood :) Despite the future of sleepless nights, poopy diapers and constant feedings, Randy and I are so proud to have lil Ty and we know things MIGHT just get easier!

Resting and Nesting

The past few weeks I've been taking it slow because my belly is getting bigger and it's more cumbersome to move around and do photo sessions! I'm currently not scheduling any sessions in the next few months because I'll have my hands full once precious Tyler is born :)

Because a blog is always better with a picture, here's a photo of my belly taken a few weeks ago on tripod :) I have to thank my ancestors for giving me nice skin throughout the pregnancy...I have absolutely no stretchmarks!! WOOT!

Janzen's Wedding Slideshow

Update: OK....I know I've been a bad blogger the past week! But there's a good reason....I've been in my nesting mode, and I've been getting everything prepared for baby Tyler's arrival--which could be any week now! It's exciting, yet a bit nerve racking at the same time!!

I finally put together a wedding music slideshow for my friends Leilani & Stephen, who are now happily married for almost one month! How time flies! Hope you will all enjoy it :)

Baby Shower!

After all the baby showers I go to, I finally went to my own on the weekend! My good friends from work hosted a joint baby shower for me and another coworker Erin, at the The Secret Garden Tea House Restaurant in San Francisco. With just another 6 weeks left before baby Tyler's debut, I'm beginning to go into my nesting mode and got Randy to start rearranging furniture in our apartment to make more room for all our baby toys and other items! Anyway, I'm truly grateful for all the presents we received and especially the details and planning that went into this baby shower and the one I had in Vancouver! THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Wedding: Leilani + Stephen = Faithful

Leilani is a special friend of mine since we met in nursing school back in 2001, and when her and Stephen had initially asked me to photograph their wedding last year, I was honored! I'm so glad baby Tyler has been so well behaved during this pregnancy that I was able to fly back to Vancouver and capture such a significant milestone in their lives! Leilani and Stephen is a testament of true love and faith for each other and for God. They are two of the same people who share very similar values, beliefs and virtues---most importantly, they care and love deeply for each other and they really couldn't be a better match! I wish you both nothing but happiness and a lifelong marriage with LOTS of babies! Thank you again for trusting me to photograph your beautiful wedding and for allowing Randy and I to be apart of your special day <3

Happy Mother's Day!

To my beloved mother whom I'm so grateful for, thank you for your love and devotion. I know you are reading this! For all those times when I misbehaved or didn't listen, you always said to me "wait until you have children of your own, then you'll know how it is to be a parent".....Well, that day is just around the corner and soon I will be a parent myself and that is when I will truly understand all those times when you would worry about me! From a family and generation where "I love you" is not often spoken or heard, I want you to know that I am truly blessed to have you and dad in my life, and I love you both very much.

Richmond Olympic Oval

About a 5 minute drive from my parent's house, stands the newly built Richmond Olympic Oval where speed skating will be held during the Vancouver Winter Olympics in 2010! Too bad it was closed to the public when we went, but I did manage to snap a couple exterior photos to show off this newly constructed building. It's so exciting to know that the 2010 Winter Olympics will be held in my hometown!
