Happy St. Patrick's Day

I hope everyone had a fun and safe weekend :)

It's a another beautiful day in San Francisco, and I get to sleep through it because I'm working a stretch of 10 nights :( 6 down, 4 more to go...I CAN DO IT! CNA and several Sutter Hospitals in the bay area are preparing a 10 day strike between March 21-31. I'm trying to pick up some shifts on my days off so I can honor the picket line!

On another side note, I'm excited my parents are coming from Vancouver to visit us for 3 whole weeks starting tomorrow! Holy, parent overload! It's ok, I only get to see them a couple times a year if I'm lucky :) Randy said to me the other night, "now you have another excuse to be more lazy around the house!" I hope that is true! LOL

Nancy's 30th Birthday!

Today is my best friend's 30th birthday! Emmers (Japanese name is Emi, hence her nickname) and I have known each other since the first day of nursing school back in January 2001.

It's been 7 lucky years since she's come into my life, and I'm grateful for all her love, advice, and fun over the years :) Nancy is not your typical prim and proper girl, she's actually QUITE the opposite! You have to have a strong stomach to laugh at her practical jokes! That's why Emmers is unlike any other, her spontaneous and vivacious personality is what makes me adore her so much! Thanks for always loving me through thick 'n thin, accepting me for my vices and random moments of stupidity, and most of all for being the best friend I can always rely on :) I LOVE YOU!!!

Here are some fun pictures of Emmers and I at Santa Cruz Boardwalk last year :) Photos taken by my dear husband Randy (assistant/2nd photographer)

This picture just shows how silly we are when we're together!

Love the natural lens flare!

Revamped Business Cards

YAY! My new business cards arrived! They have 2 sides, one with my logo and a glossy finish, and the other side with my contact info :) They're so sexy 'n chic and I think I'm in love!

Happy 6th Birthday Lauren!

Today is my niece's 6th birthday and I'm sad I won't be able to celebrate with her :(

It's amazing how fast kids can grow! I remember the first day Lauren was first born -- she was a tiny little peanut weighing slightly less than 5 lbs! Fast forward 6 years, and now she's in kindergarten!

Ever since I moved from Vancouver to San Francisco, the time I get to spend with my niece and nephew is so precious. They are my most favorite little people, and it's hard not being able to be there for them especially when they're growing up :( The following pictures were taken in October 2006 when my sister, niece and brother-in-law came to visit me in SF! Enjoy :)

Being silly with little Lauren!

I love u!

Photos from Socal

I'm finally back in Frisco! As much as I love vacationing, it always feels good to be back home :) This past weekend I was in LA with my husband to celebrate my 28th birthday! And no, I'm not secretly 17, despite how young I always look :) I have to thank my chinese ancestors for those great genes!

As promised, I want to share some of my random photos from this trip!

One year older = One more wrinkle

To everyone who called, texted, or left a message on Facebook or Myspace to wish me a Happy Birthday--THANK YOU! Tonight when I opened my email, I was super surprised when I received a massive amount of messages -- all to wish me a Happy Birthday! Thanks again for taking the time to write, you all made me feel special today :)

I'm in LA for the weekend, and will be back early Tuesday morning March 11 :) I've been away from the computer since Friday, and I've been just ITCHING to log on!!!! Not being able to go on the computer for me is like losing my cell phone or handbag -- I feel as if I'm completely helpless and lost!! But most of all, I feel disconnected to all my family and friends, whom I keep in touch with on the net!

Stay tuned for some random pictures of LA in my next post!

Easter with Evie

Meet Genevieve Olivia Brosas! She's 6 months old and cute as a clam! Everyone calls her "Evie" for short! She came over yesterday with Michelle & Donavan for an Easter shoot :) She's not quite able to sit up on her own, and we heard "Thunk!" after falling over a few times! Daddy Donovan is a police officer in El Cerrito, and one would think he's a big tough guy! But around little Evie, he's the cutest Dad and would do anything for his little girl :) Even if he had to wear a pink flower headband! LOVE IT!

Where am I?

Can anyone guess the specific location where I took this photo? I was looking at some of my old TRAVEL pictures and this is what I found!

Playing with Textures

For the longest time, I wondered how various photographers could get their pictures looking a certain way with their post processing techniques. Specifically, I admired the look of textures when incorporated into a photo. Well, this morning I basically had two options:

1) I could choose to sleep early because I just came home from a night shift

...or...

2) I could satisfy my wonders, and learn how to play with textures on my photos!

It's a no brainer that I chose the latter! With a bit of patience, a bit of time, and a bit of imagination, these are what I came up with:

After
Photobucket

Here's another one...

I personally like the re-vamped photos because I think it adds a specific mood to the overall feeling of the photographs. So tell me whether you like it or dislike it?
