Fine Art Canvas Gallery Wrap

I have something very exciting to show my blog readers and (potential) clients! The gallery wrap that I ordered has finally arrived! If you're tired of the traditional wall mounted picture frames like me, then a fine art gallery wrap is something you'll love! Various sizes start from 8x8 to 30x40, and the best thing about them is that they're ready to hang when you receive them and they look so modern :)

The edges are nicely wrapped around the sides, and the canvas has a laminate top to keep it beautiful for years to come! I think this makes a great gift for anyone, and if my clients are interested in ordering one please email me for more information! I'll be bringing these out to my client meetings so you can all see how nice they are :)

Spring is in the Air

Have you ever seen a pigeon lay eggs? Don't worry, most people haven't. It's just something you don't get to see too often. The other day as I was washing dishes, I heard a lot of "cooe cooe" outside my kitchen window. I know I've heard pigeon activity in the past, but I never bothered to look outside---until yesterday. FYI, outside my kitchen window is a small open area between two apartments side by side. The pigeons are hiding underneath the steps of an untouched fire escape route. When I looked outside, I was so surprised and excited to see a momma and poppa pigeon!--how very cute and sweet :) And on top of that, momma pigeon was sitting on top of an egg! Spring is definately in the air! (NB: people do not eat pigeon, and if you think you've tasted one before, it's most likely a quail!)

Momma pigeon is "Nesting" -- FYI: this is also a typical human behavior seen in a pregnant mom just before they deliver their baby when they are known to clean up the house for the baby's arrival :)

I was so excited to see not one egg, but two!

Back to her babies

I will keep you updated on the birth of these two new pigeonettes! (is that even a word!? Y'all know what i mean!) You can bet that I'll be keeping a close eye on them in the next few days or weeks for their arrival!

Studio Session: KAM family

My parent's 3 week trip to visit us in San Francisco is coming to an end :( They'll be leaving to Vancouver early tomorrow morning, then they're taking another trip 3 days later to China and will be gone for a month! We always joke around that my parents have a better social life than Randy and I, but I think it's totally true! During the 3 weeks of their stay, we had the total luxory of my parents cooking for us each day and we have appreciated it so much :) I'll miss them tremendously once they leave and I know it will be more quiet and lonely...but Randy and I will be taking a trip to Vancouver during mid-May for one week and then we'll get to see all my family and friends again!

My aunt (dad's sister) from LA also came to visit and spent a week with us :) Yesterday, we took some formal family photos at my home studio. Notice how I created a new signature!

The two that brought me into the world :)

Looks like an "Employee of the Month" picture! haha

Family Session: The Burgers

Photobucket

Today was a perfect overcast day to photograph the Burger family! Nick and Brandi are two wonderful parents to Rex and Kendall. Kendall is their family dog. She is 13 years old and was sadly diagnosed with cancer just recently :( I was asked by Brandi to help photograph their family in hopes to capture cherished moments because they dont' know how much longer Kendall might have. We began the photo session at their house, and then walked to a nearby park. It was pretty challenging trying to get little Rex to cooperate and smile for the camera because he was FULL of energy! Grab a coffee, because there are a lot of pictures ahead! It was hard to narrow down my favorites for the day :)

Meet Rex, he likes to hide under the couch :)

One day, Rex will fit into his dad's shoes..

Today, Rex likes to run...this picture pretty much sums up the challenge we had :)

Rex likes to climb up and down..

Rex likes to push his little red car..

Rex likes to open doors..

Rex also likes to throw little tantrums when he doesn't get his way :)

Portrait Session with Catherine

I had the pleasure of photographing Catherine earlier this morning at the Golden Gate park! She'll be receiving her Communion next month and I've been asked to document that day :) Catherine's mom also wanted some headshots of her prior to the Communion so she can make invitations for this special event.

When I first met Catherine this morning, she just woke up and was a little shy :) But as soon as she saw my camera pointing her way, Catherine gave me the sweetest smile! I thought it was so adorable that she could give such a genuine smile on demand that could easily be turned on and off like a switch! Catherine really made my job easy with her photogenic smile :)
